Introduction to Buddhist Meditation
A friendly and practical introduction to Buddhism and meditation with the Triratna Buddhist Community in Devon. Over six weeks we’ll explore the Buddha’s life and teachings, including the Four Noble Truths, conditionality, karma, and the Five Precepts, and how these can help us live with more awareness, kindness, and freedom.
Each week includes guided meditation practice — starting with body awareness and mindfulness of breathing, then exploring the Metta Bhavana (loving-kindness meditation). You’ll also be introduced to the Triratna approach to practising the Dharma together, and supported to begin developing your own meditation practice.
This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to refresh their understanding and practice.
The course will run from 7:15pm to 9:15pm each Tuesday, at our new home the Friends Meeting House, Wynards Lane, Magdalen Street, EXETER, Devon, EX2 4HU
Book for free. Each evening we will invite dana (generosity/donation); a guide would be £7-10 for each evening. Card and cash accepted.
